Chemical Peel

Your skin looks brighter and skincare products are absorbed better after treatment

Chemical peels use a chemical solution to remove the outer layer of skin and stimulate the growth of new skin cells. Your skin looks brighter and skincare products are absorbed better after treatment.

Unlike the highly aggressive chemical peels that were introduced fifty years ago, the newer chemical peel formulations have evolved into skin-friendly blends that include biocompatible lactic and citric acids, buffering agents such as licorice extract and willow bark to minimize irritation to skin, as well as topical antioxidants to infuse skin with restorative nutrients. Forever Young offers several chemical peels to lighten your skin, reduce pore size, improve acne and stimulate new skin cell growth.

SkinMedica Peels

The Vitalize and Rejuvenize Peels from SkinMedica® easily and effectively fight the effects of time, sun damage, and environmental assaults. These powerful, collagen -stimulating peels can take years off aging skin. Acne clientele swear by these peels because of their Retinoic acid component that significantly reduces oil production, acne flares and diminishes scarring.

The peels address various skin conditions including pigmentation abnormalities, post-inflammatory hyperpigmentation, melasma, fine wrinkles, large pores, and acne and are safely performed on all skin types. A combination of lactic acid, salicylic acid, and retinoic acid create superior exfoliation to other chemical peels as it stimulates the production of collagen and elastin, tightening the skin and shrinking the pores. Because the formula is uniquely self -neutralizing, it is extremely well tolerated, leaving the skin immediately taut and without redness so that the downtime is limited to the peeling days.

It comes in 2 strengths, so first- timers are encouraged to start with the Vitalize peel at least once before they move up to the Rejuvenize peel.

This peel cannot be used on individuals with aspirin sensitivity or allergy.

FAQ

What can I expect with the treatment

On a clean face we will use a solution to remove any oil that remains. Then, layers of the peel are applied, one on top of the other until the skin is dry.

Will it burn?

Because of the self- neutralizing properties of these peels, the sensation of burning is minimal, and in fact many clients are surprised at how mild it is. Additionally, there is minimal redness afterwards and most people go out to dinner or back to work without anyone noticing.

When will I peel?

If the peel is put on on a Wednesday, the skin will look normal or a little tighter Wednesday and Thursday. Friday, you will start to peel around your mouth. Saturday and Sunday the whole face will be peeling. Monday there will be a little peeling around the periphery of the face.

How often can I do the peels?

The peels can be done sequentially once monthly to really rejuvenate aging or acneic skin.

How much does it cost?

PCA Skin Peels are $75. The SkinMedica Vitalize Peel is $115, and the Rejuvenize Peel $130.
